Quiltmania Number 86 (Nov/Dec 2011) has this gorgeous pattern in it. I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw it!!! Can you say GORGEOUS??? Well, there was only one thing left to do and that was to get started. The quilt is made from 1/2 inch hexagons and contains about a trillion of them.
Am I daunted by this project? Nay nay!!! I whipped out fabric, traced hexagons on freezer paper and got started!!! Guess what!!! (This truly makes me certifiable) I am FUSSY CUTTING the little pieces!!!
I am eating this elephant one bite at a time and I don't care how long it takes!!! I bought the most gorgeous red fabric (Moda Solid - Christmas Red) for the connector hexagons.
I have fifteen little flowers done and am working on the large central medallion. I have to say that so far it is not even enough for one row of the quilt. However, I am having so much fun. I will keep you all updated!! Thank you for stopping by!! My blog has been up and running for a year now. I have had so much fun blogging. A huge THANK YOU to all who have stopped by to peek into my little sewing world. You mean so much to me and it is so fun to see where all the visitors come from.
You are crazy!! Lol...I love this quilt, but would never be able to tackle it. I'm impressed with what you have done already!
ReplyDeleteLove all of your little fussy cut hexies girlie! You ARE certifiable! I cannot wait to see the finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove your hexagon flowers and your houses. I am also putting something in the windows of my houses and my family also cannot enjoy the fun about the windows :) I am glad to be the owner of a quiltshop in the Netherlands and I am very glad to have a lot of customers who are building houses too and they enjoy my windows very much.
