The Beekeeper's Quilt

I saw my  first picture of the Beekeepers Quilt in a Mollie Makes Magazine about two years ago.  I think it was two years ago because it feels like that, but I can't be sure.  I was taken by the knitted hexagons all stitched together into a quilt.  It spoke to me but I did nothing about trying to find the pattern.  Pictures pop up every now and then on Pinterest and again I admire it so much.  Well I now have the pattern worked out and I have made a few of them.   You can add little pictures to the hexagons by means of Swiss Darning.  I will do some with pictures.
They are stuffed with fiber fill - just gently!  I am using Lion Brand Wool-ease yarn.  The original one was made with sock yarn but it is so fine and my tension is tight so they turned out really small.
Of course you need a pouch for your knitting on the go.  This pouch is a pattern called Watcha Got.  I love the vinyl window so that you can see what is inside without even opening it.  It's perfect for my Beekeeper's supplies.
The fabric for the lining is a red background with black bees on it from French General's Josephine collections.  The pouch is made with a mini charm pack and some yardage.    It was a fun pouch to make.

  2. I love those hexi-puffs! I've also been admiring them. Seems like a great way to use up yarn scraps. Your bag is really great, the clear front is a great idea.

  3. The hexagon knitted quilt will be nice! And I loved that bag. I have some vinyl I bought for a project I never made, it would be a good way to use it. I tried to Google for the pattern but couldn't find it, where did you get it?
