The Bibliophile Files!

I am linking up with Sarah at http://sarahdidit.blogspot.com for the monthly Bibliophile Files where you show and tell about the books you have read in a month.  These are the books I read in April:

This is one in a delightful series "44 Scotland Street".  Wonderful characters.  If you love Edinburgh, you will truly appreciate these books.

This was a good book.  It is about the life of Robert Louis Stevenson.  Very interesting.

Ken Follett is a favorite author whose books I enjoy immensely.  This one is set just prior to WWI and the events that start off the war.  Also covers the war.  A real epic saga.  Very good book.  It is the first one in a trilogy.  I am currently on the second book and will talk about that next month.

I have read this book before but found it in my sons room and decided to re-visit it.  Had a few belly laughs.  He is really good at finding a cultures quirky habits and way of thinking about things.  He has written books on England (Notes from a Small Island) and Australia (In a Sunburned Country).  Makes for very interesting and entertaining reading.

  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I can see you're an audio book reader too. That's my way of reading and sewing at the same time. I'm actually listening to Bill Bryson's book The Road to Little Dribbling. He does make me laugh too. I've also listened to Ken Follet before. They're nice and long.

  3. I'm a huge reader and also love to listen to audio books when I'm sewing and rug hooking in my studio. I adore Alexander McCall Smith AND Ken Follett so our tastes are very similar.
